G.O.C Jsc Participated in PLMA CHICAGO 2018

The PLMA show is held in order to help member companies meet retailers from the U.S. and Canada. Buyers from all major supermarkets, supercenters, drug chains, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, online retailers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, discounters, and even military exchanges participate.

At the 2018 show, more than 1,500 companies from over 55 countries exhibited their products, including 30 international pavilions. For more than 35 years, PLMA’s annual U.S. Private Label Trade Show has been the industry event of the year giving access to the growing private label market in the U.S. and Canada, where retailers and wholesalers source for their private label program. From food, snacks and beverages to household and kitchen products, from health and beauty to general merchandise. Exhibitors range from small and medium-size companies to well-known national brand makers who also supply store brands.

In particularly, US market is the most important and main market that G.O.C FOOD is aiming. The US customers are account for 30% of our market share and 50% of revenue is come from this market so attending PLMA show is one of the main activities of G.O.C FOOD during the year.

G.O.C FOOD has been attending this show for about 5 years continuously. Thanks to the show, we had chances to meet and do business with very big retailers from U.S, that could be named: Walmart, Transnational, Dollar General, Aldi US, etc.

For the PLMA show, we brought our most popular products, including: Pickled gherkin (for all ranges: Pickled sweet gherkin, Pickled dill gherkin, Dill spear pickles, Dill sandwich slices, Bread & Butter Chips, Hamburger Dill Chips), Pickled pepper (including Jalapeno, Banana and Bell pepper) and the new seafood product – MACKEREL, which is expected to be one of the main products selling to US in the near future. Besides, with the purpose to provide traditional products for Vietnamese people in US, we also brought: pickled leeks, bamboo shoot (both dried and boiled), dried wood ear, cinnamon and dried pepper.

This year, the show lasted 3 days, from November 11th to November 13th. The total customers come to visit G.O.C Food is 45, of which 30 customers are from US and 15 customers from other countries. This number is 20% higher compared to last year.

In conclusion, PLMA 2018 brought to us some certain success with many potential customers. With the target of increasing the market share for US market in upcoming years, we are sure to come back and attend this show in the future.
